Just an idea. But what about having something on here for childrens crafts and things they do and make. I haven`t seen anywhere that show and talk about things like that. Just a thought to maybe help get a few more people on here and to show photos of what the younger generation are making or have made.

Every since I saw the very fine work being done by a ten year old in a carpet factory in Egypt I have often thought that we don't expect enough of our children when it comes to craft stuff.

No, I am not advocating or condoning the exploitation of child labour - that's a different issue and this is not the place for a discussion/argument/rant thereupon. I'm merely holding this child's abilities up as an example of what children are capable of if we let them.

When I went home and started raising my own expectations and the expectations of the children in my class the standard of their craft and art work rose by leaps and bounds.

I agree with what you say.
What i was suggesting was just to show and talk about what crafts our children do. It does not matter how good or bad it is. I think if we pass on out crafting skill to out children, then we will keep the crafting world alive.
( Or something like that anyway )
