Hi All,

I've recently been on a jolly jaunt to Llandudno and was surprised to discover a shop called ...Craft Land-udno!

I'm not entirely sure the locals will be too happy at their name being messed about with in this way ...but it is worth a look if you are visiting. It's not what you might expect of a craft shop ...it's more like one of those 'buy up end of lines and sell 'em cheap' kind of shops ...and it's pretty big! Don't get me wrong, it's not dirt cheap ...but if I recall correctly, an example is peel off sheets were 3 for £1 ...that sort of thing.

It appears to be run by two friendly chaps (I don't think they are local) who have seen an opportunity and grabbed it ...good luck to them is what I say.

Has anyone else been?

PS - I have no connection with said business ...I just thought you might be interested if you find yourself in the area!

Like the idea of you site and thanks for adding the link to us too! Just wondered I have registered with you and seen that you charge for the info provided - I would not be interested in stands at the event as I do not sell my items but just wondered if there is also a charge for the info for those of us who just want to attend!

After my experience today of having to pay £4 for an event that had just around a dozen exhibitors I would be reluctant to have to pay to even find out about them!

Hi Bagpuss,

Thanks for your reply, and for your search request on UKCFIS. I'll do your search and send you the info this evening.

In reply to your comments ...the Find-a-Fair service is primarily aimed at crafters who are looking for fairs to attend as traders ...hence the charge (although it is actually free at the moment!) as there is a reasonable amount of research for me to do in putting the report together. And I figured that the crafters may well attend events they wouldn't have otherwise known about due to my work, so it's the 'thing' I sell as they would sell their products.

I have now come to realise that visitors of craft events may also be interested in using the service in the way you mention, but the information provided is aimed at trading crafters as you will see, so it doesn't include things like visitor entrance charges (at least not currently). It would also be difficult to split out who is a visitor and who is a trader and decide who to charge and who not.

Anyhoo (sorry, Scrubs fan!) ...having said all that I can also tell you that I am currently reviewing the charging policy that is due to come into force on 1st July ...so watch this space!!!

Thanks again for your comments ...all are welcome ...and I'm delighted you like the idea of the service.:D

Regards.

Thanks for that! Maybe you could charge for advance information so far in advance but perhaps let others know closer to the event? For instance I only found out about the event I went to today yesterday evening! Would prefer a bit more notice than that though LOL!
