Morning Olwen and everyone.

Another Monday morning - yuck lol. I had to drag myself out of bed this morning to fins that the tumble dryer had switched itself off and my work clothes were still wet. It took a bit of hard work but I finally got to work on time lol.

How is everyone else this morning?

Hope everyone who is ill is feeling better

I wasn't too well at the begining of my hols, ended up fainting in the sea:confused:

Had a fab time though. Went to Cairo and went quad biking across the dessert. Would recommend Egypt to anyone, but be prepared to be hasseled by the locals

Will post pics when i get sorted

Sounds great Tink - well not the fainting bit! I saw the King Tut exhibition in London a couple of months ago and that was good but I think that going to Egypt would be better :D

Had a bit of mother/daughter chat to Hannah this afternoon. Get this, because she simply isn't interested in hooking up with a particular boy, some of the kids are calling her a lesbian to her face. A friend who happens to be a boy, has said to his face "your girlfriend is a lesbian". Hannah says "whats wrong with people, whats the matter with being friends, am I normal". I am glad the way she is, valuing herself highly, her friend has been sweet on her since year 7, has tried to kiss her but she won't "have any funny business".

Happy Birthday Helen.

Lorraine tell your daughter "well done for sticking up for herself" If she went with every boy that asked her she'd be getting called something else so either way kids are going to call each other names. Just tell her to explain to the boy that because she has known him for so long he's more like a brother to her and she just doesn't think of him "in that way".

Happy belated birthday Helen:)

Well I went to Dublin on Tuesday to see Billy Connolly in concert at The Olympia Thetre. He did an hour and three quarter of stand-up and my sides are still aching from laughing so much.

We stayed over, did the tourist bus and came back last night after having quite a boozy trip - well it was Dublin!

LeonieM
7th June 2008, 11:10 AM
Well, I'm up at last - can't say how awake I actually am, though. I feel all heady today - I bet madam has given me her cold! :(

SHE won't get out of bed at all!

Oh well, looks like I'll have to go out without her today, then, doesn't it! ;)

I've had one of my newsetters from Do Crafts today - and the June prize draw is to win a Big Bite with accessories! Needless to say, I've entered. I won't win, but you never know ....

Bagpuss
7th June 2008, 01:36 PM
Well Leonie if you don't enter then you certainly won't win! At least this way you are in with a chance so never say never!

Oh dear sorry to hear you aren't feeling too great so yes I would say you would be better off with her too ;)

I did get some lovely craft goodies - Blossoms & Butterflies 12x12 stack and matching chipboard, a lovely book on decorative journaling, some hot fix stones, some foam shapes, two lovely tag books and some gorgeous Sarah's flowers!

We got out just before 1pm in the end and were out for just over 2 hours.

I went into Lorimers, who have a Do Crafts day on 21st June (the Saturday after next), and I have decided what I'm spending my birthday money on (no, I haven't actually officially spent it yet). They're doing the craft trollies for £29.99 instead of £49.99, and they're so well fitted out both inside and out. I'm still peeved that I couldn't bring one back from the US with me, but there's no way I could have transported one safely.

If I'm going to be starting a local crop (which I'm getting quite serious about), then I'm going to need something to transport all my bits to and fro aren't I?

I would have bought one today (and the smaller one which goes on top which is also on offer for £14.99), but they only had the one and it was a bit shop soiled. They reckon they'll get some more in ready for the event, so I'll probably get one then.

In the meantime, I just bought a pack of black 3D pads. :D

Bagpuss
7th June 2008, 07:37 PM
They are really good value those trollies Leonie! What colour are you going to go for - they come in pink and brown or purple & lavender? I love the fact that the little one fits on the top too! I have been tempted myself but have the AMM tote that sits on my desk and so want to get something that goes with that really! I love the runway totes but they are hideously expensive!

Thinking about it I think I have seen a Karen Foster one at a good price - will go and have a look and post back her for you to see too if you like!

here you go (http://www.storage4crafts.com/shopx/home.php?cat=53) reduced from £89.95 to just £35.95 (60% off!)- looks much sturdier than the PM one from Do Crafts. They have it in green (like my little tote) and also blue

It's a great price reduction, but I don't like it. The blue one's out of stock, and I'd never go for green, anyway.

I do like the red one in the centre of the page, but tbh, I think I prefer the look of the purple Do Crafts one.

Thanks for the info, though - very useful - and it looks like a very interesting site to investigate.

I have the brown and pink Docrafts tote and it's crammed with stuff. It's surprising how much it will take. They are very good value at the new reduced price (I had mine as a presednt so I'm not too annoyed they have been reduced so much lol).

As for today, I'm finally going to get some time to do some scrapping! It's been weeks since I had half an hour to myself - never mind a whole afternoon! I'm also planning on tidying my studio up a bit. I must be the most disorganised person I know.

I have a "Stanley"! It's really a tool box bought it at Halfords for £20. Huge space in the bottom with a life out section, top lifts off as well, it has a bit in the front which is great for little bits and peices, same in the top and the top section has a lift out with loads of storage underneath.

I saw the way that some people had decorated theirs Olwen and they can look really great! I got one and took it back as for some reason there was no way I could fit any 12x12 in it although I know that others have!

samsq
8th June 2008, 06:03 PM
Evening all. I believe that the Stanley totes can be "decopatched" successfully to decorate them. I've seen a pic of one and it looked great. I wouldn't have a clue where to start with it though.

Me neither I have to say! Might have to have a search for some piccies!
