Well the live shows start tomorrow - should be interesting - who else is watching other than Leonie and I then?

I've been watching it :D no favs yet.

The one I definitely don't like is the redhead who has the beaky nose and scrapes her hair back in a hair band. She is NOT pleasant to look at!

My favourite at this stage is the chunky one who took her boyfriend to her audition as their third date, and one of the sing-offs as their 8th date!

She seems really down to earth and bubbly. She is amazing - she knew that the only way she'd every get work in the theatre was to lose weight, so she went away and lost 5 stone or something! So, all power to her!

I'm watching it too, havent got a favourite for Nancy yet, but think I'm going to shed a few tears over the Olivers, how can anyone reject any of them?

LeonieM
28th March 2008, 09:52 PM
The only definite no-no for Oliver has to be the little black boy. That's not a racist comment: remember, Oliver was related to the man who saved him - and there's no way that would have been a black family in Victorian London! Sorry, but that's the way it was.

Bagpuss
29th March 2008, 01:00 PM
I agree with Leonie I loved that lady who was a bit older and took her boyfriend too! As for the black boy I do see what you mean but these days there is no way that they would be allowed NOT to employ him if he was the best for the job! The Olivers are not being voted on either but being chosen by Cameron McIntosh and The Lord!

Me, me, me "puts hands up enthusiastically in the air" I love this show, I love anything about musicals and even better when it's got John Barrowman in!! :D

LeonieM

What time is this on tonight? OH took this week's Radio Times to work with him by accident!

I'm not sure I like the results show being tomorrow, though..

Bagpuss
29th March 2008, 04:55 PM
It is on at 6.50pm I THINK!

I agree adore John too but just cannot watch Torchwood despite that :(

LeonieM

Anyone catch John in Hotel Babylon this week? Talk about camping it up!!!

tink84
29th March 2008, 05:12 PM
Ohh will have to watch this

It would be nice for them to pick someone who really deserves it. It would be nice for them to step out side the box for a change too

Bagpuss
29th March 2008, 06:36 PM
Agree - I have been a bit disappointed the past two shows that both Connie and Lee have had some sort of experience - in a way it is hardly taking someone and moulding them! Connie has a background in that I think she went to stage school and Lee was an understudy already in the West End! Let's hope this time it really does go to someone who has just decided to have a go and hopefully the best will shine through!

LeonieM
29th March 2008, 07:06 PM
Girl 1 has tried too hard.

My fav is no. 2 (Jodie) I think. Trouble is, that song she was singing was a horrible song.

We'll have to see how the other 10 perform! lol

celfyddydau
29th March 2008, 07:10 PM
It's hard, ALW has just said about Nancy's age. In the book she was 17 and had been in Fagin's clutches since age 6 so was young but had been in that environment for most of her life so would have had more experiences than some 17 yr olds.

tink84
29th March 2008, 08:06 PM
To be fair, i don't think the two with experience should be in it

I thought i was about giving normal people the opportunity to live their dreams no those with years of experience

Bagpuss
29th March 2008, 09:52 PM
Love that song Chasing Pavement that Jodie sang!

Only like Francesca cause she is from my home town but agree that they have a lot more experience than the rest! Francesca has only been an understudy (to Rachel!) which apparently was her first role since Drama School and to be fair Lee Mead had been an understudy on more than one occassion!

LeonieM
29th March 2008, 10:05 PM
You can be an understudy for years and never actually set foot on the stage, so don't be too harsh on him.

I think Lee was the best man for the job - and having seen him live twice, I haven't changed my view on that.

Amanda
29th March 2008, 10:44 PM
I enjoyed the show..... not sure on some of the song choices, and some of the outfits, but it was good. I think the first 2 did the best.... Jodie is my fav so far. And i am so disappointed that they have gone the American way and doing the results show the following day!

Bagpuss
30th March 2008, 10:55 AM
I agree re the results show! Wish they would do it all on the one night :(

LeonieM
30th March 2008, 06:52 PM
Ha! Amy got the least number of votes!

Let's see who the judges save - Amy or Francesca.

I didn't notice before - Francesca's got a lisp!

LeonieM
30th March 2008, 06:56 PM
Hooray - 'beaky' is going home! She hit some terribly bum high notes - and you can't afford to do that in a sing off.

Bagpuss
30th March 2008, 09:27 PM
Nerves make you do that too though! Not suprised that he saved, as he put it, "the professional" - still the Swansea Girl is still in and you have to support you own and all that! LOL!

Hooray - 'beaky' is going home! She hit some terribly bum high notes - and you can't afford to do that in a sing off.

Sorry Leonie but I don't see why you are calling Amy "beaky"!

I found it interesting that when Graham asked the panel who they thought wasn't Nancy the two picked were the two in the sing off and Amy is the one that two of them said wasn't Nancy for them.

Also noticed that they picked up on the curse of the coat from Joseph and Francesca took Amy's necklace.

Who else thinks they should have left the format as being the sing off on Saturday night? Did the BBC not learn from all the riots and leaks about Come Dancing? Had I been well enough I'd have found out on Saturday who was out.

Bagpuss
31st March 2008, 11:55 AM
Agree the sing off should be aired the same night!!! Think the necklace thing is a bit silly too - worked somehow with the coat but the necklace is just silly!

This is another one of my Sat night shows. I love all the dancing and singing shows. glass of wine and the telly, thats me.

LeonieM
5th April 2008, 07:06 PM
So far, my favourite is still Jodie - oh and the girl who sung first (name has escaped me).

The one who sung Beautiful started off well - but what was all that nonsense of half writhing on the floor at the end????

Last two coming out now, including the Irish redhead, who I felt overdid it spectacularly last week.

I saw a little of it last night, and I could not believe the outfits they were wearing. What has happened to the wardrobe department? Even my DH commented on it, so it must have been bad!

Mandy Charlton Photography
6th April 2008, 01:14 PM
I think that they are trying to make them look cheap to match the character of Nancy ;)

LeonieM
6th April 2008, 06:59 PM
Oh no! How on earth did Cleo get in the bottom two??? She was miles better than Keisha, too, so goodness only why Andrew saved Keisha.

At least the 'curse of the necklace' didn't happen.

celfyddydau
6th April 2008, 07:43 PM
With the necklace they are having the other in the bottom 2 take it :D

BetteK
7th April 2008, 03:20 PM
I was addicted to "Maria", "Joseph" and now "Nancy" and have to agree about the wardrobe department needing improving ... those dresses are just awful and whoever dresses the girls for thier solo's needs shooting!

I didn't like the redheaded girl who got voted out first from the word go and didn't think she should have made it to the live shows BUT I had a tear in my eye when she sang her last song and they whipped her necklace from her ... how cruel!

Think Rachael is the favourite to win and is seen as another Connie/Lee figure ... winner from the start but she is not my favourite.

I also like Jodie but hated the song they gave her this week.

Seem to have more I don't like than I do this time around so am interested to see how they develop and to see which ones grow on me.

Now, as for John Barrowman ... gorgeous, gorgeous, GORGEOUS!!!!!

GAY GAY GAY! Sorry you just don't have a chance! And the accent is fake! I can remember him in a kids programme in the 80s and he had his Scotish accent. He did spend some time growing up in the States and seems to have decided that the fake accent gets him more attention.

One of the girls in this is a friend of DVO, but I can't remember which one. I think it's the blonde girl that ALW saved last week. I know it's one of the ones who has done stage work in the past.

Bagpuss
7th April 2008, 06:51 PM
Sorry Olwen you can say fake but could also say the same about me then! I can change at the drop of a hat from being very Welsh to what people in this part of England anyway consider normal! I had to learn this when I was a child or else get teased about my accent and when John was interviewed on BBC Breakfast he basically said the say thing!

As for GAY GAY GAY - well we can look can't we LOL!

Francesa is the girl he saved and who has worked with Denise on Chicago - she is from Swansea - just like me!

BetteK
7th April 2008, 08:26 PM
Just finished his auto-biography (what a delight ... going to bed with John Barrowman every night!!!!) and he has a duel accent.

He lived in Scotland until he was 7 (I think!) and then moved to the USA and he finds if he is talking to someone Scottish then his Scottish accent comes out but generally he now speaks with an American accent.

Having said that he could speak with any accent he liked and I'd still drop at his feet.

Debbie xXx

Bagpuss

Just like me then! As soon as I get on the phone to my Mum or my oldest mate in Wales the accent comes back and I talk ten times faster!!!

celfyddydau

I went off him when I saw him on Never Mind the Buzzcocks. He was very drunk and kept dropping the American accent for the Scottish one and was so rude to the host.

Never saw that - mind you have not watched Buzzcocks for years now!

BetteK
8th April 2008, 03:58 PM
I seem to remember something about it but I used to cringe at how rude and nasty they all were to each other anyway so maybe I figured JB was just giving as good as he got and holding his own.

Have never seen Torchwood but I only need to picture him standing in his overcoat and looking all broody and menacing for me to go weak at the knees.

I agree that the wardrobe department is having a major malfunction! There solo outfits are TERRIBLE! I am loving the show. I Love Jodie and the Irish Girl that always wears green (her name has gone out of my head!) The one that ALW said was fab this week! I also think Samantha is great, but not sure she could cope with 8 shows a week just yet. She is still very young.

Jodie remains my favourite and I think she is just a typical Nancy (if you know what I mean!) ... there are still a couple I really can't take to and a couple of others that are growing on me but she really stands out for me.

Ashley (with the long red hair) is a close second but I don't like the favourite much at all whereas I loved the favourite for Maria and Joseph ... Connie & Lee from the start.

Obviously I didn't see last week's (even though it has been recorded, so I could catch up if I wanted), but this week's was interesting. How come the one with the lisp is still in???

I didn't think Ashley was any good this week, and the Irish girl was good, but she has no idea how to stand or move. Also, has anyone else noticed how she sings through the side of her mouth? Not an attractive sight, I have to say.

Jode continues to be my favourite. I'm very interested that she's got engaged; her third date with this guy was the initial audition, so they've not been together that long. If she got the role, she'd soon find herself losing more weight; Connie started off the show as a 12, was a 10 by the time she got the role, and finished the run as an 8. And my goodness isn't she scrawny with it!!

Bagpuss
20th April 2008, 09:15 AM
I think that doing the number of shows that they do every week Leonie means that they are bound to lose weight as it will be so much more physical than the type of jobs they will have done before.

Watched the first couple but to be honest I did not watch the Joseph one at all and can see me going the same way on this as I did not watch at all last night.

As for the girl singing from the side of her mouth, well it bugs the hell out of me. Strange very strange.

LeonieM
20th April 2008, 09:22 PM
Well, the professional actress has gone, so Helen you should be happy about that! lol

Actually, what bugged me is the fact that she's a very bad lisper, and I'm surprised she got as far as she did.

Who do you think will go next week? Keisha or Ashley? Neither seem particularly popular.

BetteK
20th April 2008, 09:59 PM
Am pleased Francesca went tonight but my heart was in my mouth because I have Ashley as my second favourite and was sure she would be going after ALW's comments last night ... I thought it very professional of him not to come the great "I Am" and get rid of her because he doesn't rate her voice but instead listened to the panel and took their views on board.

I do think though that Francesca is better than some of the others even though her lisp drives me potty ... her voice is just lovely so long as you don't look at her when she is singing.

I still love Jodie and think she is just perfect as she is ... she will lose more weight naturally as the show progresses but I don't think she really needs to ... she is perfect for Nancy in my eyes and lovely just as she is ... and yes, I am a large lady myself!

Don't really like Jessie ... John Barrowman ***sigh*** was right when he said she needs to move about the stage better ... she sort of just runs around a bit, does a little wiggle and then runs around a bit some more.

Another favourite is little Sarah ... didn't much like her at first but she has really grown on me and I hope she ends up in the final.

Have to say I don't really like any of the others - Niamh is super but not Nancy and I don't see AT ALL what they see in Rachel or Samantha and as for Keisha ... I'm afraid I think she should have gone tonight.

I am loving this show but not as much as I did with Maria or Joseph but can't put my finger on quite why ... still unmissable though so roll on next Saturday please!

Jodie has been my fave since the auditions.

21st April 2008, 10:42 AM
I was suprised at ALW's decision after his comments that he didn't rate Ashley's voice. Also that's the first time that he hasn't said "on this one song only" and taken the panel into account.

Another first is when they were asked who wasn't their Nancy this week it's the first time it's not been the bottom 2!

LeonieM
26th April 2008, 07:36 PM
Well, tonight's show was interesting. They put all three Irish girls on first - and the first two left me dead; absolutely awful!

Ashley was awful, and Keisha was too - but that's probably because she lost her voice during the week. The trouble is, she needs to wear a bra. Every move she made everything quivered like jelly - not attractive at all, and my eyes were drawn. Yuck!

There were two really outstanding performances tonight - Sarah and Jodie.

We'll have to wait and see what the show tomorrow night brings.

Hi Leonie! I really liked Rachel tonight and I haven't in previous weeks.

LeonieM
26th April 2008, 09:13 PM
Sounds stupid, but which one is Rachel? I'm terrible with their names! If you tell me which colour they wear, that'll remind me.

celfyddydau
27th April 2008, 05:17 PM
Here's the offical BBC (http://www.bbc.co.uk/oliver/)website so you can remind yourselves who is who :D

Did anyone else notice that the male panel members seem to be trying to impress someone? Barry Hunphries has died his hair an impossible shade of black. John Barrowman has had his hair cut and as for ALW it looks like he's had surgury! The suitcases under his eyes have disappeared and his wrinkles are a lot less. I think he's been at the botox.

Not trying to be catty but it was really distracting to see they'd all been in the beauty parlour :D

LeonieM
27th April 2008, 08:51 PM
Wow, what a shocker! I can't believe Ashley got through on votes. I'm sure Andrew regrets putting her through last week and was looking forward to getting rid of her this week.

Did anyone else notice him storm off the stage at the end? My SiL said there was something in the paper about an almighty row.

I still don't think Keisha was right for Nancy - but she's certainly got a great career ahead of her. Did you see that Andrew said he'd find something for her himsef!!

CuteDesigns
27th April 2008, 09:08 PM
Yeah I noticed Andrew storm off at the end.

I was expecting Ashley to go, that's who I would have gone for anyway.

BetteK
27th April 2008, 09:13 PM
I quite liked Ashley from the start ... she was my second favourite but I've gone off her a bit now.

I was baffled last night after watching the show and just don't GET IT at all ... those I liked the panel didn't and those the panel raved about I just thought were awful ... what do they know anyway???? ;)

Agreed Keisha should have gone tonight as I didn't much like her and did not think her right for Nancy at all but I am sure she will have a career now anyway.

I did see ALW walk off stage - my husband was in the kitchen and I called through to him that he had stropped off and I have to say I did not entirely disagree with the public vote at all this week ... Niamh singing "Valerie" was (I thought) quite dreadful.

My favourites are still Jodie and Sarah but none of the rest really grab me and what they see in Samantha or Jessie just amazes me.

As for ALW's bags under his eyes ... they disappeared in between the Maria show and the Joseph one. We commented at the time how pronounced his bags had become during the Maria show and then sat open mouthed when Joseph came around and he looked 10 years younger.

Roll on next week's show and more controversy I guess.

Debbie xXx

LeonieM
27th April 2008, 09:38 PM
I commented to MiL that I wonder if he disappeared off because he wanted to have a little cry, or something! It wasn't a real slamming off, after all - and he could have stormed off before the credits rolled if he'd wanted to.

Keisha singing at the end nearly had me in tears, so who knows.

According to iplayer, Sarah was the sixth Nancy out.

BetteK
4th May 2008, 09:30 PM
I did see it and am SOooooo cross!!!!

My second favourite Sarah was in the sing-off with one of my least favourites Rachel and, of course, ALW saved Rachel over Sarah.

The look on Rachel's face when she heard her name as being in the bottom two just about said it all - she was totally shocked and clearly thought she was safe.

If it were down to the viewer's votes then she would be gone but as it is Sarah was sent packing and I am not one little bit happy.

I haven't really got into this program, not like 'Maria' and 'Joseph' but i do watch it but can't say who my favourite is at the mo.

I will see who is left next weekend & then i will see what i think of the girls that are left & let you guys know.

Mind you they have got guts to be on there, that must be so nerve racking, wanting to be on stage is one thing but being on the TV live as well must be even harder.

Jessie was my favourite at the beginning (well, after Nancy didn't make it to the finals:( ) and I thought she was superb this week after a couple of dodgy performances over the last weeks.

LeonieM
5th May 2008, 10:18 AM
Was it Rachel who sang 'You are the Sunshine of my life?" If so, I think she was one of the worst.

Naimh is sweet, but I don't think she has the maturity nor the strength of voice. It is rather thin at the moment - she's not old enough.

I can't believe he got rid of Sarah - she was my second favourite!

And that ruddy Ashley is still there ....

Bagpuss
5th May 2008, 02:00 PM
I have to say I have given up watching - it has not grabbed me in the same way as the Maria one did and I did not watch Joseph at all. I guess I will keep an eye to see what happens with Jodie and might watch the final but with the two shows being on different nights I resent the fact that a TV show can dominate my weekend like that!

CuteDesigns
8th May 2008, 07:09 AM
Yeah I must admit I haven't enjoyed this as much as Joseph which is weird as I love Oliver. I think it's because none of the girls really appeal to me so don't feel I'm supporting anyone.

I think it's because none of the girls really appeal to me so don't feel I'm supporting anyone.

Have to agree - with both Maria & Joseph there were a couple of them that I really liked (although my favourites to win were Connie & Lee from the start) but this time there are more girls I don't like than those I do.

Now Sarah has gone I only really like Jodie and can't really see any of the others in the role of Nancy and am even struggling to find one of them that I'd like in the final with her.

I really like Jessy, but not tonight! It was not her thing. ALW was a bit harsh on Ashley!!! There was no need for that. I think they all had a bit of an off day today. None really stood out.

CuteDesigns
11th May 2008, 07:36 AM
Yeah I think he was harsh on Ashley but then I think she should have gone weeks ago. Hoping she's out. :)

celfyddydau
11th May 2008, 10:17 AM
If ALW doesn't like Ashley he should have got rid of her when he had the chance. I think that he's kept a couple of the weaker ones in case the public have one of his favourites in the sing of and then he's got someone to vote out, back fired on him last week though! :D

I thought that Samantha was just as shouty and had bad diction like Jessie but she got praised.

Didn't think the older 3 doing "Man I feel like a woman" was al that good, they hardly moved and looked like an old variety act with those canes!

LeonieM
11th May 2008, 06:15 PM
I don't like either Ashley or Rachel. Niamh is a strange one. Her voice is still very 'little girlie' and I don't think she's ready to play Nancy. The 3 youngsters may claim that Nancy wasn't much older, but the point is that in those days she would have been years ahead of her actual age because life was hard. I also don't think her voice is strong enough to sustain 8 performances a week.

Jessie was back to cavorting in a very masculine way yesterday. Her pretty hair and face get totally overshadowed by her 'gung-ho' posture and the way she sings out of the side of her mouth. It's not attractive.

DaisyG
11th May 2008, 07:24 PM
I liked Jessie at the start and thought last week she was great. This week no one stood out, I thought all performances were weak. In Maria and Joseph, Connie and Lee stood out from the start, although I adored Ben in Joseph, Connie was my fav in Maria.

Still Jodie for me!

According to something Denise said on The One Show one day last week, Jodie is the nation's favourite, too - obviously she gets to see how many votes each girl gets (something we don't, of course).

celfyddydau
12th May 2008, 10:14 AM
Been on the Digital Spy forum and other people said about Sam being shouty and no diction too, so glad it wasn't just me.

The look on Ashley's face when she was called to the sing off - she knew she was out.

LeonieM
17th May 2008, 10:27 PM
Well, tonight was interesting. For the first time I thought Jodie was a bit weak.

I thought Rachel' rendition of I Will Always Love You was wonderful, but I still don't think she's the one.

Sam was great - but I didn't like the song much. Modern musical songs are what I would describe as 'experimental', ie they seem to be all over the place.

Jessie was good tonight, but she's got to learn NOT to sing out of the corner of her mouth.

And finally Niamh. Ohhhhh dear. What can I say? She was very weak and reedy. As Andrew said, her voice really isn't strong enough and I also think that she could be in serious danger of damaging it before it's had a chance to develop fully.

So, on that basis, I think Niamh should go this week.

Yeah I think Niamh should go this week, not because I don't like her. It's just her turn to go and I like her but she's just not Nancy.

Good sense prevailed. Niamh was NOT ready, and Andrew said so. The public didn't want her, either.

The question is, who will not make it into the final in 2 weeks? Rachel or Jessie? They are the least favourites ...

Anyone got any ideas which three Oliver's they'd like to see win? They get picked on Saturday don't they?

That one is more difficult, as we've not seen a lot of them.

I don't think the black boy is right - he sounds as if he's on the verge of pubity from the deepness of his voice on Sunday!! So, I think he's just too old. In a few months, he'll be the tallest person on the stage!! Also, there was no WAY Oliver could have been black, as he was descended from white posh people!

The little Welsh boy is a bit too Welsh. One of the boys sings through the side of his mouth - you can't possibly enunciate properly if you do that.

Otherwise, most of them sort of blend into one another.

Jessie's not been in the sing off yet but Rachel has so I can't see how she's one of the least favourites.

I do know that ALW has a production in the pipeline where he'll need Irish actresses! Isn't it amazing how many Irish ladies have been in Nancy?

I'm going purely on who's left now. Of the four that are left, Jodie and Sam are the most popular, so that only leaves Rachel and Jessie by definition.

I found it very interesting that until Saturday night, 3 out of the final 5 were Irish, and Jodie is the only English lass left - possibly why she's getting the number of votes she is. Okay, Isle of Man isn't exactly abroad, but they like to think they are! lol

Oh gawd - we're going to have a Welsh Oliver!

Gwion, Laurence and Harry have been chosen.

I'm pleased to see Cameron Macintosh on tonight; it's his show, it's nice to hear his opinions.

I wasn't keen on Rachel's performance tonight.
I also wasn't that keen on Jessie's. She's been turned down by drama school twice - shouldn't that tell her something? lol

Sam and Jodie left to sing.

Does ALW think we're all daft with his comments about not wanting to be there tonight(well he said tomorrow night) everyone knows that it's pre-recorded. You just have to see the opening number, it's a repeat of the Saturday opening number!

Don't know how they think they can get away with pretending it's a live show on Sunday. If it were they'd have different audience members, not the same ones in the same clothes!

I was disappointed that I missed the results show - but we all went out to dinner and were at the restaurant from 6.30pm - 8.30pm.

When I got home I checked V+s on demand, but they don't put the reality shows on there.

OH kindly asked the person he was on the phone to at the time, and told me that "the one in yellow went out tonight". So, that's Rachel gone.

Jessie, Jodie and Samantha in the final next week, then. Who do you think will go out first half? I think it'll be down to Jodie and Samantha in the last two.

They don't actually say it's a live show though on the Sunday. They did the same with the Dancing and when people complained their response was that it doesn't say the Sunday show is live, the Saturday one is. So yeah they record it on the Saturday but they don't actually say it's live.

But yeah I was hoping Jessie would go as I really don't think her acting is good enough to be Nancy. I have a feeling Jodie will win but I don't like her much either, find her really OTT and irritating. That leaves Sam.

I found the results show on BBC iPlayer. I was saddened that Cameron doesn't want Jodie as his Nancy, and the other didn't want Jessie.

And then who ended up as the only two safe places but Jodie and Jessie! I was totally amazed that Sam would have gone out on votes alone, though - I thought she was more popular than that!

So, it will be a very interesting final on Saturday - and as OH is on nights, I shall have a totally uninterrupted viewing.

I take it you're Welsh then? I don't suppose there's any point asking you if you've noticed how very broad Gwion's accent is, either. If you're Welsh yourself, you'll just think it's 'normal'. :D

I have absolutely nothing against the Welsh; I just like characters to be cast according to their description in the book, ie Nancy and Oliver were not black, and Oliver was also not Welsh.

I mean, you wouldn't cast Fagin as either a black man or a broad Geordie. And the actor who played him on TV recently (Timothy Spall) had the worst Jewish accent I've ever heard!

Whether I'm Welsh or not has nothing to do with it. The point is - none of the Nancy's are real Cockneys and whoever wins (the Northener, the Manx or the Irish lass) will have to put on a new accent. The same thing will probably happen with Gwion AND the other Olivers. The other two will have to drop their middle class English accents because Oliver was raised as a pauper in the workhouse. I just didn't like the way you dismissed little Gwion out of hand. After all, he was the first one chosen for the semi finals, so he must have something special.

There's no need to be rude just because you don't agree with my opinion. If everyone felt the same way about everything, there wouldn't be any point in having competitions.

I disagree with a lot of things people say; however, instead of being rude I just ignore it.

Magimw

??? How on earth can you say that I was rude??? What about these comments:

'I didn't notice before - Francesca's got a lisp!'

'The one I definitely don't like is the redhead who has the beaky nose and scrapes her hair back in a hair band. She is NOT pleasant to look at!'

'...the chunky one...'

'Hooray - 'beaky' is going home!'

'And my goodness isn't she scrawny with it!!'

'The little Welsh boy is a bit too Welsh.'

The only thing I wrote was 'I just didn't like the way you dismissed little Gwion out of hand.' Hardly rude in comparison to your comments week in week out!

JO-DIE! JO-DIE! JO-DIE! JO-DIE!

YAAAAAAYYYY! GO JODIE!!

I voted for the first time last Saturday, and I shall be voting again tonight - twice; once to get her through to the final two, and then hopefully to get her to win.

To be honest, if not her, then I really don't know who I'd vote for. I don't really go for Jessie (too tomboyish) and Sam just doesn't do anything for me. I was amazed that Sam would have gone out last week on votes alone.

I was also saddened that Cameron doesn't rate Jodie. :(

Still, less than 2 hours to go now, so we shall see. Oh, and all the final 12 are back tonight; I can remind myself of the ones who were knocked out. ;)

I'm surprised to see Jessie going through. She didn't really shine tonight and her solo wasn't as powerful as the other two - but that was probably the song's fault, not hers! I think that the duet with Gwion helped her, because he's such a little star, and they made a great partnership.

Anyway, we've voted for Jodie. She's incredibly strong and resilient, and I think she'll do a great job.

I've been staying in most Saturday nights to see the show, and will miss it from now on!

Talking about Jessie's song tonight, did anyone else notice how really short her song was? I didn't really 'get' it, to be honest.

LeonieM

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a shame Cameron and Andrew wanted Jessie ...

As they said, though, Jodie would be consistent. Jessie is good, but whether she's mature and trained enough to go on night after night is another matter. Connie was untrained, and she was off sick a few times a few months in because she strained her voice.

Lee was a semi-pro, and he's not been off sick at all, so it does show that some training is essential.

I'm really really pleased for Jodie. Poor Jessie seemed heartbroken, but she's still young and I also think that something will turn up for her.

Note to self:
Organize a trip to London to see Jodie in the show!

We went to see The Sound of Music last year, but unfortunately Connie wasn't singing that night. However, I'd seen Connie sing live a few times in singing festivals before she appeared on TV, so wasn't too disappointed.

Anyway, great show, great songs, great performances, great girls. Britain's Got Talent (?!?) is a bit lightweight in comparison!!

we have decided that the winning Nancy is scheduled to perform on Monday and Tuesday evenings, Wednesday matinees and Friday evenings. Until the show opens in December we cannot make a final decision on any additional performances.

And ALW is busy writing Phantom 2 for next year and is planning on having an Irish female lead. I think that Jessie may be getting some training in the next 18 months ;)

Nooooooooo! I really didn't want Jodie to win. :( She's just so annoying and definitely not Nancy for me! Argh!

I was disappointed when Sam went out but when I saw Jessie's performances as Nancy she blew me away and was fantastic, much better than Jodie's. Of course the biggest problem with Jessie would have been the acting skills but with six months to go until the show starts I'm sure they would have put that right.

Disappointed. :(
