Can anyone please tell me where I can get some antique looking narrow velvet ribbon please? I need some for a little inspiration book I am doing for my grand daughter and the only piece I have left is too short. The type I need has a faded look.
Thanks guys for any help.

:( well sadly no one has been able to help me but thanks to anyone who tried.
I got the original stuff from Create and Craft years ago......which maybe explains the faded look ......it was probably ordinary plain velvet when I got it ! :D
*goes off for a re-think *

:) Thanks for the great website Bagpuss. I must say I am not only impressed by the goods but its not often you get free p/p when you only spend £5.....and spending a fiver will be soooooo easy with all those yummy ribbons they have :D

A bit belated but cotton velvet ribbon will fade fairly quickly if you leave it laid out on the parcel shelf of the car in the sun for a few days. Crumple it up and you'll get an interesting effect.
And how do I know........ :-(

Oh thank you so much for that tip...why didn't I think of that !
So far I have tried bleaching, inking, dyeing, boiling and nukeing with a heat gun...all of which were a bit of a pigs ear! So thanks again x
My new book "How To Ruin Ribbon" will be released shortly.....

My new book "How To Ruin Ribbon" will be released shortly..... LOL, certainly made me smile.
DH left a hoodie scrunched up on the back seat of his car - it now has an interesting mottled effect too!
