Hi all, my wife's just setting up business doing hand painted child's door plaques, toyboxes etc and I'm trying to source her some materials. In particular I'm looking for A4 sheets of card thick enough to be used as templates for drawing round, so far all I have been able to find is for card making and is a little too thin. Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Danny have you tried getting in touch with a local framer? They will either have pieces of mountboard which you could buy if you want especially large pieces or else I do know that others have been very very lucky and got off offcuts for FREE!

Hi Danny,
What about Hobby Craft, they do sheets in A3 size & bigger i think & they do all thickness's (if that is spelt right!!)
Or what about an artist shop...........i can picture a shop that i know do thicker sheets but it is in Gosport in Hampshire & not sure where you come from. PM me if you want the details

Hi! To help your wife for her business, you may get some material for your wife, as needed which is available at www.rhapado.com (http://www.rhapado.com). It is not so costly, so you can afford it. I benefitted from that.

Boxboard is great. It's a nice thick cardboard that people use for making boxes. It's slightly thicker than the stuff they make cake boxes out of. We sell it for 50p for an A2 sheet.

No you're alright RubyMay, I'm on about the other half of 'we'.
I work for Arcade Crafts in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. They opened a second shop - SMS - which I am now running.
