Well, will be giving the cross-stitch picture to nephew's girlfriend tomorrow and I am really nervous about it!

ALso handing over the cake and the card and tag and, oh dear, all this crafting is very stressful indeed.

Yeh, I know but I spent ages choosing the design in the first place - even starting one and deciding that wasn't right so starting again with another. Then the worry about getting it done on time then all the hours and hours of work ... the bleeding fingers and sore eyes! Lovingly sewing each and every cross and adding each and every bead.

Having to hide it each time she walked through the door unexpectedly (many a time it got quickly shoved under the Radio Times!!!!) and then choosing the mount board and frame ... thought all these hobbies were supposed to be relaxing????

I do know it is not the end of the world if she doesn't like it (and I doubt she would say she didn't like it anyway!!) but I just so want it to be special for her because her family don't bother very much and I wanted to spoil her and treat her.

She will be here soon so all this stress will be over.

Thank goodness.

It sounds like you have been very busy. It's always hard to work to dead-lines, especially if you have to work on the quiet too. I'm sure she will love it and will appreciate the effort and time spent.

Let us know how you got on.

Talk about torture!

Nephew arrived with girlfriend & I've only been "to the loo" about seven times this morning already in anticipation of The Handover so after singing to her (OK, can't sing but I made the effort and warbled my way through "Happy Birthday" anyway!) and giving her a hug and asking all about her presents etc., I said ...

"So, do you want your present then?" in a teasing sort of voice.

"No!" she replied. "I want it tonight at the restaurant".

Oh ***** ***** **** I thought but said, "oh, ok".

So the anticipation is proglonged ... I shall be a wreck by the time she finally gets to see it.

"Well, would you like a peek at your cake?" You can guess the answer to that one ... seems I've got to wait until tonight for that too.

"What about your card?" I asked "Surely you want that now?" But no, she didn't and now nephew has just taken her home and I'm left waiting and wondering.

And stressing.

ps: I know in the grand scheme of things this is really all of no great importance and there are worse things in the world to worry about but this is doin' my 'ed in!

Oh Debbie what a shame. Your nephew has probably told her how fantastic it is and so she wants to open it at the restaurant for all to see :)

Oh for goodness sake!

Just got home from the birthday meal and the cake went down ok but she still hasn't opened her picture.

I'm really glad she didn't open it in front of everyone because I don't like all that faffing around when people compliment you ... it was embarrasing enough with the cake so I am glad she will be opening it at home.

Guess I won't find out until tomorrow if she likes it.

On to the next project now.

Already started ... am stitching "Angel of Love " again (if you want to see this go to www.tiag.com (http://www.tiag.com) and you will find it there.

Got a really hectic three weeks ahead of me so probably won't get much of it done but then we go away for two weeks (we drive Land Rovers and our local owner's club is hosting the National Rally over Spring Bank Holiday so whilst hubby is off playing, er, working I will be sewing! We already have over 750 caravans/tents etc., booked in so it is going to be a busy time).

I shall be getting a lot of sewing done during that fortnight.
