Snow has gone! We bought Enchanted and have watched it today too - I love that film!!!

Been to see our practice nurse and ended up having an argument with her and completely upsetting her which made her turn on me!

I'm just wading through piles of ironing. Can't do any packing until the clothes are ironed. Can't put the extras (chargers etc) into the cases until the clothes are in there. So, it's a bit of a catch-22 at the moment.

OH is mithering a bit at the mess, but that can't be helped. He's currently upstairs sorting out socks and underwear - and niggling at Emma who has supposedly had a shower, even though she was in and out of the bath so quickly I don't think the bath has had a chance to get wet!

Once I've ironed as much as I'm going to - some will have to wait until we get there - then I can get my underwear, swimwear and nightwear sorted, and then I can actually pack. I have 4 cases up here, but I really don't think I'm going to fill them all. It helps that we don't have to take 3 big bath towels this year. I was going to take a fifth, fold down, bag in the bottom of one of the big cases, but I seriously don't think we're going to need it.

Anyway, Iron's up to temperature and I'm going in! lol

I love Enchanted too but didn't realise it was out today. I want to get my copy from Woolies as they are supposed to have a special cover for it.

LeonieM
7th April 2008, 02:36 PM
Finished the ironing. I've done about 20 teeshirts, 1 skirt, 1 pair of jeans, 3 pairs of leggings, 2 dressing gowns and Emm'a sun hat! lol

Anything else can wait until we get there now.

I'm having a little sit down and a drink, and then I'm going to start packing. OH is panicking a bit, but I told him - it's not the big things that we'll forget (ie passports and money), it'll be the little things such as nail scissors, tissues, prescribed tablets etc! Oh, and I'm usually very good at forgetting underwear! lol

Hello all,

sorry I've been absent today, got my laptop back from PC World and bought some Super industrial anti-virus software just incase! We're still not sure what happened and it could just be that my poor laptop was getting too full!

I might be in Bristol next week BTW for a boudoir shoot so if anyone is in the Bristol, Somerset/Devon, that part of the country and they want a photoshoot, family, boudoir, pet portraits, childrens portraits or pretty much anything else let me know and I'll squeeze you in. It's looking like we might be down on Wednesday/Thursday/Friday so please do let me know if you've always wanted a photoshoot but you thought you lived too far away!!

Good for you.

Its a ruddy nuisance you have to make sure that half these things go in hold luggage these days. At least thats something we don't have to think about sailing from Holyhead in August.

I worry that my lappie will bite the bullet in the next year or so. I could do with backing it up again - once we're back from holiday will be a good time, because then there'll be all my holiday photos on it.

Do you run 'disk cleanup' on a regular basis? Empty out your 'temporary internet files' etc? That doesn't half speed up access! lol

Mandy Charlton Photography
7th April 2008, 04:02 PM
Yeah, I do all of that, I just think my system was so overwhelmed with stuff, it's only just a year old though and I've had several problems with it. I am going to upgrade in the next couple of months though.

LeonieM
7th April 2008, 04:16 PM
I'm not impressed if it's only lasted a year!!! What is your processor speed? Was it expensive or a 'cheapie'?

If it was a basic 'cheapie' then I'm not surprised. However, if it was a high spec, then they're having a laugh!

Mandy Charlton Photography
7th April 2008, 04:28 PM
It was neither, it's a mid-range machine, the problem is (according to James) it's catered for personal home use and I need a business machine. It's fine though because Paul needs a new laptop anyway so he can have this one which will service him really well and I'll get a mean machine which James (PC worlds, God of Computers) is going to cater to my exact needs.

Bagpuss
7th April 2008, 06:41 PM
And of course as I discovered when I was doing mystery shoppping PC World do special offers just for business customers who they seem to pull out all the stops for! Unfortunately I cannot say my experience on a personal home user level so glad they can get something right Mandy - sounds like this James is a God of Computers - hope he does not leave!

I got my computer through the business centre in pc world & they do go out of there way to help you in that dept although when they before they knew it was for a business they could hardly be bothered to serve me!!

Funny enough i got a booklet in today with a range of some special offers in it for business users - i havent opened it yet.

Mandy Charlton Photography
7th April 2008, 08:04 PM
teehee it's true, I once swore never to go to PCWorld again, a long time before I was a business customer. These days they're just so good to me I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else!!

celfyddydau
9th April 2008, 09:06 AM
Is anyone else watching "the diets that time forgot"? I would loose weight so easily on that show as I won't eat anything they've served so far!

They split the people into 3 teams to see which team will loose weight the best according to the diet & exercise programme set.

Victorians - low carb diet and mostly eating "meat" this includes things like offal! Even for breakfast.

Chew Chew diet (Edwardian) they can eat anything they like but must chew each mouthful 32 times. Also it has to be something the Edwardians would have had so no burgers or chips!

1920s - Calorie controlled diet, they have been getting a lot of disgusting food as well, again things like offal.

I rarely watch regular TV anymore Celfy, I find it's all a load of utter tosh other than of course gems like IDA and Dr Who and of course the wonderful Gavin and Stacey which even makes me snort sometimes :D

Morning all well the heavens have just opened here,so we have decided to stay in,which means we can get on with some packing.
Had to tell the dog off this morning,we have a nest of baby rabbits in our front flower bed and they have just started to venture out,but the dog thought your not coming on my patch so she caught one and was chucking it around and tried to kill it,luckily we got to it before she did damage and put it back in the nest, now she will go out with surpervision,i know its her instinct but we like baby bunnies.

It's Spring Portraits in the Park today down in Jesmond Dene, I was hoping to get up to 18 slots booked, I actually booked 3!! Not bad though really, 3 new clients is better than none!! Think I might get the Fimo out again today...feeling inspired after messing with the bits and bobs in the bottom of the box yesterday.....
Hubby's off to work shortly....DD2 is playing on cbeebies on her sisters computer.....and today has the possibility of being even more chilled than yesterday...
Can't wait to see the pics Mandy....
Helen is off to Ally Pally today so she wont be around to play.....

Ohhh the sun is shining here also.... but we did have showers earlier so everything is glistening.

Just sent DH off to the dump (grumbling) with the latest load of rubbish from the garage and a huge sofa.. I had to help him get it into the car, but don't know what he is going to do the other end LOL

The kids are currently all glued to Sky High on the box, but will probably then go out and get covered in mud in the garden - and I shall attempt the ironing pile that is holding up one corner of my house.... trying to get everything ready for them returning back to school tomorrow...phew :)

I had a great day though my evening shoot didn't show up which was slightly annoying! Never mind though as I got so many great photos, I'm sort of halfway to editing them so it will be tommorrow before I even get any on my blog. Helen please don't get rid of your stash, I never craft but my stash is still there and the Scrapagogo kits keep coming, I still like looking at it all!! :D
